Free mental health workshop for VCSE staff and volunteers in Tendring

25/08/2026

Looking after your team starts with looking after yourself.

Running a voluntary or community organisation asks a lot of the people in it. Whether you are staff or a volunteer, the work can be demanding, and your own wellbeing often slips quietly down the list.

What is The Essentials?

The Essentials is a free half-day workshop designed to help with exactly that.

Part of The Mental Health Toolkit and delivered by Mid and North East Essex Mind, it offers a practical, down-to-earth approach to thinking about, managing and talking about your mental health.

Recent feedback has been positive – every attendee said they would recommend the training to a friend or colleague, and almost all said they could see themselves using what they learned in everyday life.

Who can attend for free?

The workshop is fully funded by Essex County Council, covering the usual £75 per person charge, so the workshop is free for VCSE employees and volunteers across Essex.

When and where is the session?

Location: CVS Tendring, Imperial House, 20-22 Rosemary Road, Clacton-on-Sea, CO15 1NX
Date: 3 September 2026
Time: 9.30am-1pm

To book, email training@mnessexmind.org or book The Essentials – Clacton-on-Sea online.

Not sure whether you qualify for a free place? Drop them a line and they will be happy to talk it through.

Other locations and dates across Mid and North East Essex are also available via the training section of their website.

Taking a few hours to invest in your own wellbeing is not time away from the work. It is part of doing it well.
