As Active Essex Foundation celebrates its 10th anniversary, it is recognising the trustees who have helped guide and support the charity over the past decade.
Trustees play an important role in any charity. They provide oversight, bring different skills and perspectives and help make sure the organisation stays focused on its purpose.
Active Essex Foundation’s Board brings together experience from across the charity, public and private sectors, including charity leadership, legal governance, marketing and communications, policing and public service.
This range of skills helps the Foundation shape its strategic direction, challenge its thinking and stay focused on supporting communities across Greater Essex.
The Foundation has also highlighted the value trustees bring beyond governance and accountability – including perspective, forward thinking and helping an organisation identify opportunities and navigate challenges.
Some of Active Essex Foundation’s trustees have been involved since the charity was established in 2016.
As part of its anniversary, the Foundation has reflected on the contribution trustees have made to its development and the role they continue to play in its future.
