Free cyber security training for staff

26/10/2026

Could your staff and volunteers spot a phishing email or know what to do if something went wrong online?

The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) offers free online cyber security training covering the basics of staying safe online. It takes less than 30 minutes to complete and is designed for people with little or no technical knowledge.

What does the training cover?

The course covers:

  • using strong passwords
  • securing your devices
  • spotting phishing attempts
  • reporting cyber security incidents

There’s also a short quiz at the end and links to further guidance. No login is required.

Who is it for?

The training is particularly useful for charities, voluntary organisations and small businesses, and can be shared directly with staff and volunteers.

Organisations with their own learning platforms can also add the training to their existing staff training.
