Safeguarding Adults Week takes place from 16–22 November 2026, bringing organisations together to raise awareness of important safeguarding issues and share good practice.
This year’s theme is Every Voice. Every Choice. The focus is on making safeguarding more personal by listening to people, involving them in decisions and supporting greater choice and control.
Ann Craft Trust is focusing on how co-production can support better safeguarding.
This means working with people rather than simply making decisions for them – listening to their experiences, understanding what matters to them and involving them in decisions about their safety.
The approach reflects key principles of the Care Act 2014, including empowerment and prevention, as well as Making Safeguarding Personal.
A different safeguarding theme will be explored each day, including:
Ann Craft Trust is also providing free resources to help organisations get involved, alongside a programme of free online seminars during the week.
Safeguarding Adults Week is an opportunity to start conversations within your organisation and review how you involve people in decisions about their own safety.
You could use the week to share safeguarding information with staff and volunteers, discuss this year’s themes as a team or make use of the free resources available from Ann Craft Trust.
