As a first step for all structures you will need to write your charities objects. If you intend to set up as a Registered Charity or Charitable Incorporated Organisation the charity objects need to be worded in a particular way to reflect that they are “for the public benefit” and wholly charitable.
This is less important if your intended structure is a Community Interest.

The Charity Commission defines thirteen charitable purposes. A charity must demonstrate how they meet one or more of the following in order to successfully register as a charity.
